A little sunshine.
“There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle” ~ Robert Alden
It’s Spring here
and the freesias are out in force,
their perfume permeating every part of us as we drive the long road home.
The weather has been so beautiful,
almost in celebration of the small girl’s home coming
and the light, which I have watched change over the last little while,
is warm and golden.
I took her out into it yesterday (how could I not)
and she and Lily spent the afternoon languishing in the sunshine.
So very good for the soul.
The hardest part of all was trying to choose a photo for I Heart Faces this week – the theme is ‘a touch of sun’
but I settled on this one.
I love that the haze of the afternoon makes the bruising on her arms almost invisible
as if it is washing away the pain of the last week
and she is my little sunshine,
my light
and she burns brightly every day,
finds happiness,
just when I think there is no more to be had.
Mirror.
“The eyes are the mirror to the soul” ~ yiddish proverb
This weeks theme at I Heart Faces is “focusing on the eyes”.
Those beautiful blue eyes that give everything away the minute you look into them.
Her striking feature.
Piggies
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind, ‘Pooh’, he whispered
‘Yes, Piglet?’
‘Nothing’, said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw ‘I just wanted to be sure of you’” ~ A.A. Milne.
The theme at I heart faces this week is pets.
Windswept
“I can’t change the direction of the wind but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination” ~ Jimmy Dean
The theme at I heart faces this week is wind.
