The meeting.

While Ivy was in the hospital
the birthday bunnies escaped into the night.
The latch to their hutch, not secured properly.
We told them both that the bunnies missed their mummy,
so they had set off on an adventure.
Sadness ensued
until last night when two new bunnies came to stay (with a newly wired shut side door ).
Their meeting was bliss.
Not nearly Wordless.

School holidays are well and truly in full swing.
A slow paced busy – ness that comes from having a house full of children
all day,
every day.
We do not rush to get up.

There is no routine,
no have to be somewhere by a certain time
and yet it is noisy and messy and sometimes overwhelming
as the children settle into living with each other full time again.
I wonder if all homes go through this settling in phase,
a time where there is a clash of personalities
that settles midway
so that by the end of the Summer
they can all get along

and then you miss it when the school year starts,
long for it, somehow.
We have been lying low.
The girl has been a mess of pain and exhaustion and tears
(and there is so much to tell, so much to write about)
but last weekend,
all of us,
with a large dose of cabin fever
decided to brainstorm and come up with ideas of things to do.

Many will not be accomplished,
many unobtainable pipe dreams for now.
Funds,
timing
and limitations due to the PICC line
will prevent certain things
but
we will give it our best shot -
it’s all we can do.
