Happy normality.
We were all dressed to go last week
but in the end
the idea
was just too much
and she suddenly became nervous and tearful
and I thought;
it’s too soon for her,
it’s just too soon.
I undressed her slowly and cuddled her into me.
We’ll try again next week, I said.
Today, I dressed her.
Tights and tutu,
crossover and shoes.
Hoping against all hopes that she would not lose her nerve,
that she would find her feet
and she did.
Of course she did.
She was happy
and danced
and was free
to enjoy her normality
and I was happy and felt like dancing too.
For a while we both ignored reality.
Ivy is beautiful , love her quiet smile , she has been through so much. Wishing her so much strength to get through each day, you too my friend (hugs).

Ahhh, so glad you both got to do that! She looks happy. That’s nice to see. Poor girl, hopefully this new port treats her better than the last one did.
Very happy for both of you. G misses her class and occasionally puts on all her dancing things.
Don’t forget, today this was your normality. It may not be tomorrow, but today it was. And she is the most adorable ballerina that ever was (except of course my own)
