There’s no such thing.
There’s no such thing as a gruffalo?
Not in Ivy’s world.

Today, after Captain Starlight read one of Ivy’s favourite books,
The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
Ivy was lucky enought to meet the Gruffalo himself,
along with Mouse and Snake.
They are performing the play at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle this week
and came along to the Starlight Room and into the medical ward to visit sick
children and their families.

We also met with some lovely guys from NBN news, who interviewed Ivy
and I and shot some footage of the girl with the Gruffalo.
It’ll be on the news tonight. (Link here)
On top of that Ivy was given tickets to see the show, which is running from
today until Saturday ( we can have gate leave for the performance).
It was pretty exciting and a truly magical moment when the Gruffalo, Mouse
and Snake came into her room.
Her face lit up!
She tickled his fur, touched his purple spikes and gave that Gruffalo a great
big cuddle
(she said he was soft and not scary at all).
I’m sitting here typing and long after the event she is still talking about
meeting some of her favourite story book characters and the events of today.
Actually, she’s busy making playdough pizza for them.
