Sometimes I think the washing machine eats our socks.

I know I put pairs in there but at the end of the cycle there is just the one -

its partner mysteriously missing.

I’ll search through all of the clothing to see if it has tucked itself inadvertently into a sleeve or into some undies

but I never find it.

It has to be the machine, snacking on the tasty striped ones and the knee highs.

I think I may have replaced more socks in this lifetime than any other person on this earth.

Another thing I want to know is;

where do all the hair elastics go?

With four girls in the house, all with long hair,

why could I not find one single hair tie this morning?

I’m sure I have bought more elastics to sink a ship

but do you think I could put my hands on one today?

No.
