People are amazing.
Really, they are.
A parcel arrived today from America.
Inside were two blue bears, some books and two packs, filled with medical stuff.
An IV line,
a fluid bag,
bandages.
These are part of a package that is given to children who need IVIG.
It’s not available in Australia,
in fact,
there is nothing like it here.
There are no support people to look after the emotional side of Ivy’s illness.
The two books talk of a family who are dealing with immune deficiency,
written as children’s stories
and the bears, (named Grace and Nelson by Ivy and Noah)
with their medical supplies,
are part of a project to encourage children to role play so that they can work through their hard times, their anxieties, parts of their lives that many other kids don’t understand.
These things arrived on our doorstep today
on a day when Ivy was not feeling so well
on a day when I was feeling a little disheartened.
Ears and blisters and all the usuals.
This parcel sent with love and understanding
brightened our day.
All I can say is thank you.
From the very bottom of my heart.
Thank you for thinking of us.
Words are definitely not enough but hopefully, these photos will speak volumes.

Thank you Dayna.
