The tale of the wobbly trees.

Once upon a time,

in a land not so far away (well, far away for some of you),

lived a princess named Ivy.

ivybeauty2web

She ruled the land with a fair and even hand.

Okay, she didn’t really

and the people of the land would argue with the above statement

until they were blue in the face

but

it sounded good.

Anyway,

the princess declared that the castle be decorated

as Christmas was near.

So all of the pretty, shiny ornaments were pulled from the royal shed and the tree dusted off

and the abode suitably decked out in all things celebratory of the season.

It was beeee – you – ti – ful.

There was a mystery in the kingdom though.

Two of the ornaments were often missing.

Two wire trees.

Often the royal servants would find them hidden somewhere

or

trip over them.

One day

a chamber maid discovered it was the princess removing the trees.

The princess!

The chamber maid replaced them

but the little princess was often found carting them away again.

“but why?” asked the maid, confused.

“I just don’t luff the wobbly trees” the princess replied.

The chamber maid could not argue with that

and so there is no end to this story (at least not until the end of the Christmas season)

because

to this very day the wobbly trees still offend the little princess.

I love the expression on her face – so cute! I like wire trees – I own one and it stands happily on the television stand – it’s just something a little different.

Oh my gosh, how cute and how adorable Ivy is in those photos. One day, hopefully I will get there with my new camera. I bought me a Canon Rebel XS for Christmas, and I adore i. Be sure and check out my photos on my blog. Give me suggestions please master photographer. I can use some help please.

Have a wonderful Christmas, and hope those two trees survive.

She doesn’t luff the trees? Don’t put them out. Or put them where they won’t be seen by her too much?
I plan on buying a small wire tree, if there’s any left, in the after christmas sales. I can use it to hang all my christmas earrings on.

She’s an old soul, that princess, and she knows what she likes! I’d be tempted to humour her, and use the wobbly trees to decorate my bedroom or something! All your ornaments look beautiful to me! And I didn’t get a chance to comment on your post where Ivy chose sleeping with you over presents from Santa (small boy emergency – you know how that goes!) but it moved me to tears. Whenever you have self-doubts, hold that moment in your mind. You’re doing what most needs to be done, and your children know that they are loved and safe in your embrace, and that’s the only thing that matters.

    Merry Christmas!

Aww bless her. A very sweet story. :)

And I thought the days of fairy tales were long since over….Leave it to four year olds.

Oh LOL that is too cute!! Love her grumpy face in the one shot.
LOVE what you do with the baubles in the big vase.

Perhaps something about them reminds her of wires and hospitals.

I like them under the table! If she doesn’t luff them, the girl can’t help it.

    Cute and oh so determined.

This post just made my day. Thank you.

  • Mum:
