While discharge was not obtained the paed kindly gave Ivy gate leave so that she could attend her first dance

and she sparkled.

She shone.

    Small concesssions that make the stay more bearable and the pediatrician seem less like a monster to the grieving child are always good. I hope you guys get to go home soon. God bless.

    Hello. I found your website via darnonymous.blogspot.com when she recently linked to your post about National Premie Day in July.

    I don’t know why (well, I do) but the photo of Ivy’s gorgeous little pigeon-toed feet in pretty sparkly shoes treading floorboards has reduced me to tears. How utterly precious is she? I am feeling particularly close to the memory of my own premie this week for some reason, she was born at 30wks and lost her when she was 4wks old (we never brought her home, she caught NEC and died suddenly).

    I find your writing about the NICU so refreshing and honest. I hope you don’t mind but I’d like to add you to my blogroll. Let me know if that’s not ok and I’ll remove your address.

    Those shoes are AMAZING. I’d love to have seen her face wearing them. I’ll bet she felt like a million bucks, even though she’s not well.
