When Ivy had the last infusion of IVIG, with it she also had some IV antibiotics and her prednisone was pushed up because her health was flagging.
Badly.
The paed wanted her to stay well during our holiday.
He agreed that her Intragam needed to be pushed up to every 21 days, to get her through Winter, if not for any other reason.
He said there was a process, another application and that he would have details and a new infusion date when we returned and that I should email him (our only form of communication these days, it seems) when we were home.
So I did.
At the end of last week and at the beginning of a four day long weekend, he emailed me back, stating he was ‘starting the process’ and to get back to him on Tuesday.
So I did
and I am still waiting
and Ivy is starting her meltdown week
early.
Her ear is discharging and she has a cough
and I’m guessing that not alot is happening with ‘the process’.
Not while we were away and definitely not over the Easter weekend.
It seems that old saying ‘out of sight, out of mind’ rings very true.
Five bucks says that nothing will happen this week either and that when a response to my email comes through, it will mention starting the process next week.
Perhaps, if I email him every week on Tuesday, by Winter we might be at 21 days.
You have to laugh, really.
No, seriously.
Otherwise you cry.
