Hi guys!

Welcome to another Weekly Winners. This is becoming a photo blog lately, huh?

Sometimes there are just no words.

For more WW go have a look at Lotus’ blog.

Anyway, here are mine.

My fave for the week: Windswept.

I have to show my photography instructor, who I lovingly have labeled “Mr Awesome” (because he believes he is awesome), some of my photos this week.

I am very nervous

but this last one?

I can’t wait to see how it prints up.

Humanity.

Dr Cason’s photo challenge for February is Humanity.

I’ve talked about it before.

Hospital humanity.

This is the main corridor to Westmead Kids hospital. It overflows with the human condition every single  day.

Hope, fear, loss, grief, happiness, relief.

This corridor holds alot of emotions for me.

It is the one I first walked when I was looking for answers for Immy,

the very same that I walked into with so much hope for William and the one I had to walk away from, with empty arms.

It is the very same that I entered with fear and worry for Ivy and then hope.

On this day, the day the photo was taken, it was the corridor we hugged each other in quiet celebration when the IVIG was approved.

People helping people.

Everyone is stunned by the fires in Victoria, the loss of lives and homes.

The loss of memories and loved ones.

Our celebration seems wrong and out of place when there is so much devastation and death.

I’m not sure what I can do to help.

Goodness knows I want to.

I have found a few people who are doing things to give back to their fellow Australians.

To some, they may seem small but every little thing counts right now.

A very old friend and scrapbooker extrordinaire Sarah is calling for 12 x 12, almost completed layouts so that people will be able to create some memories. If you are a scrapper and want to help her out, all the details are on her blog.

Edited to add; this is not for right now, this is for later. It takes time, however, to collect and collate and finally to distribute at an appropriate time.

Some of my favourite photographers are donating their time and their session fees to help out.

Janine Kaye is in the Woolongong area and is inviting people to donate their session fees to the Red Cross, in return, you will receive a photo shoot.

Kris Leigh is up in the Newcastle and the Central Coast area, also donating her session fees and her time. If you go to her site she has a list of many more photographers in all states of Australia.

There are bigger organisations who are calling for help and donations.

The Australian Red Cross  need money donations so they can provide food, medical needs, accomodation and support. There is also a huge need for blood donation.

The Salvation Army are specifically calling for new (not secondhand) underwear and new bedding also.

Coles around Australia are donating all of Friday’s profits to the appeal, so if you need to do food shopping, Friday is the day.

The fires are still burning and the weather, although good today, is set to heat up, with high winds over the next 48 hours.

Homes and lives are still at risk, so anything anyone can do to help is appreciated.

My heart goes out to the families who have lost everything.

A small bit of good.

Ivy has been approved for more Intragam.

Thank God for small mercies.
