Structurally sound.

Ivy’s echocardiogram went well.

There are no structural abnormalities and all of the valves and chambers look good.

What he did find was that the electrical firing of the heart is a bit…

higgelty piggelty

that there may be two different nodes vying for control over the cardiac rhythm, causing the high heart rate and some arrhythmia.

The pressure in her lungs is high too.

Abnormally so.

We are not sure what that actually means at the moment.

We do know it probably means more tests for the little girl.

Even though, I was a cardiac nurse before I was a midwife (irony for dinner, anyone?) I will have to hit the text books and talk to the paediatrician  before I can understand what is going on.

At the moment, we are running with the fact that the cardiologist was pretty relaxed about things.

So, a mixed bag today my friends.

 I just want you to know;

Ivy was spectacular.
