It’s the little things.

Ivy has had the best week in as long as I can remember.

I mean it.

It has been fantastic to have my happy girl back and for the first time in ages I have felt relaxed about her health and wellbeing.

In the week and two days since we were discharged from hospital I have been able to toilet train Noah, who is now very proud to be sporting ‘man undies’ all the time and who tells anyone who will listen.

I have been able to spend good quality time with the bigger kids, without having to carry around a limpet child or try to talk with them over crying.

I have not had to call the paed for more than a week.

Surely that in itself needs a high five?

I’ve been outside, people. Outside, into the fresh air and the little girl has pottered behind.

It has been wonderful.

I feel alive, not in that ‘dead space’ I reserve, that place where I try not to feel too much.

The biggest thing though?

I am enjoying her.
