So here we are.
The paed called late on Friday night and I told him the Ivygirl was sick, really sick.
You know, that frightened, sick in the guts, knot in your throat, something bad is happening worry that you get when someone special is sick?
Yeah, that’s been me for a large part of the week. (As if you guys out there didn’t know).
The thing is, I’m not good at telling the paed.
So, instead of going in like we should have on Friday, I stayed home with her.
In a last ditch effort, the paed asked me to up her Bactrim and Ivy’s stomach protested loudly to that.
In the small hours of the morning Ivy started to go down hill. Rapidly.
At lunchtime Ivy was vomiting and weak, so I asked David to page the paed and tell him we were coming in.
Before he had a chance though, the paed called us and told us to come in.
Perhaps some wierd cosmic ‘must do now’ thing? Who knows…
So here we are, in the hospital.
After the last admission, David bought mobile broadband for me and I am trying it out for the first time tonight.
The girl is on IV antibiotics and fluids and is asleep as I type this.
I am having an MSN conversation with my husband.
It’s a pretty weird existence.
I’m so tired that I can’t think straight.
More tomorrow but I just thought I would let you know; the girl is in the best place now, somewhere she really needs to be, to be able to get better.
Oh, and the nurses here are fantastic.
Praying for a swift recovery for Ivy and a rest for you my friend.

Hope that Ivy is better soon and that you get a chance to get some sleep, or at the least some rest so that you can do what you do best - look after your family. First you have to look after you though.

I’m not glad she’s sick…but I’m SOOOO Glad you are in the right place!! I’m glad you were able to tell the paed where Ivy and you were at and get her in. I pray for a speedy recovery…As always Ivy and you are in my thoughts.
And MSN’ing with the hubby? It’s only wierd when you are sitting next to each other doing it (I’ve known couples like that

Just make sure to look after yourself, as we all know we get through the stressful times and then fall sick ourselves, so get as much rest as you can while you’re in there ( I know people get bugger all sleep in hosp) but try to relax a little and look after yourself.

Sorry for swearing but I am angry. Angry for you babe. Angry at the paed. Angry at the medical system for allowing our girl to fucking suffer cause they won’t get off their fat fucking arses and DO SOMETHING. They can cure old mens problems in the bedroom why can’t they do this!

OMG OMG OMG - this is just terrible
Our poor little girl, and our poof Tiff. Look after you as well as Ivy, as you are important too.
I have every available appendage crossed for you, and some that aren’t available - I don’t even really know what to say - except that I am thinking of you all and hope Ivy is on the mend soon.
Our medical system is totally shot that this can happen, and Ivy can be so ill for so long before anyone does anything. It’s just appalling.

I’m sad for you and Ivy, but I’m glad she’s in hospital where they can keep a close eye on her and act quickly when things go wrong. I hope they don’t send you home too soon, even though I know that will be hard on the rest of the family. Get well soon baby girl. Tiff, get as much rest and sleep as you can.
