All this and then…
Ivy made it through the night but left in the wake of a sleepless, sick child, is her mother, who feels barely a human, let alone a human capable of looking after many.
My washing machine ( a most valuable tool in a house of nine) decided to break, as if in sympathy for my broken child, or perhaps my broken spirit.
So I have done little today but nurse the girl and stroke my son’s hair, so that he knows I love him and I know he’s there.
I’ve been slack and kept the big kids home. It has been comforting to have them with me, filling the house with noise, dulling the worry.
The house is in ruin
and I don’t care because when your son brings you this;
and tells you they are his ‘monies’ everything looks clean and rosey and beautiful.
Thank you, my boy.
Thank you.

Ah, Tiff… tears I tell you, TEARS! Beautiful — all of it: The photos, the words, you — everything, just beautiful. I’m so glad that Ivy’s doing better, and hoping with all my heart that you get some sleep. (LOL – two a.m. here and I’m going to throw that same wish my direction for me and my fussy little teether!) Hug that gorgeous boy of yours extra tight for me today, and kiss Miss Ivy’s sweet little curly top.
You make me proud to be on this wonderful journey called motherhood — there is much joy in being in such excellent company!
She is just gorgeous. He is just gorgeous. Ignore the housework for as long as you can, then pay the big girls to do it with Noah’s ‘monies’… x
Ignore the housework by all means, like Rach says, but “pay” the big girls to keep watch over the littlies naps while YOU catch up on a bit of sleep. They can wake you if they need to. It’s amazing how even an hour of sleep can change things. Glad to hear that Ivy is getting better.
Gorgeous. And I am adding my voice to the others, ignore the housework!
‘monies’ awwwwwww beautiful boy.
I know she will grow out of this babe. She will. I know it. Too did.
What I did was to feed Too panadol whenever her temp got to 38. Her trigger temp was 38.2 so mild that most would not even know they had a temp.
Don’t know if you can do that though with all the other stuff.
God I wish I could help you, or just give you a hug.
I wish ……
Nothing I can say pet.
Take care of yourself.
I agree. Ignore the housework. It’ll always be there. Try to get some rest and know that we’re thinking of you.
Awww, what special children you have!
I probably would have done the same and let the kids stay at home.
Bless your heart. I pray that Ivy recovers quickly…and that you keep getting moments of sunshine like you had today.
Bugga the housework. I hope you managed to nap a little too love.
I do hope you had a better sleep last night and that Ivy is improving. I too have battened down the hatches and hibernated with all the kids at home when one was sick and me exhausted
Meh, housework.
I used to be a nutter about it.
there are more important things.
Housework can wait.
((hugs))
Awwwww.
Love the photos.
Bugger the housework
