You know it’s going to be a bad day when…

…you leave the house and just as you step outside it pours down in buckets, soaking you and two toddlers to the core.

…you can’t find your car keys but your toddler son knows exactly where they are.

…you get to the car and realise that your husband has taken out one of the car seats.

…you get to the pathology unit and the phlebotomist knows you by your first name.

… as you leave some old guy looks at you with daggers and comments “Awww, the poor little girl, why’d ya have to do that to her?”

But then you know everything is going to be okay when you walk from the hospital with  little hands clasping yours and an elderly lady comments…

“You’ve got the whole world in those hands of yours”.

Moments like that last one sure make it all worth while, don’t they?

(I think I’ve met that old guy before… he hangs out at every lab I’ve ever been to. *sigh*)

Oh my that is one of the nicest, most inspiring comments I have ever heard! So so sooooo much better than the ‘double trouble/ you have your hands full’ that I usually get!!

You just have to remember the people like the old woman and forget the ones who are less than understanding and not so kind.

We just will ignore everything aside from the old lady.

Still, I bet you felt like holding down the guy and jabbing him with blunt needles. Or is that just me…

Now that one works the exact opposite of my favorite business phrase: ‘It only takes one ‘Aw Shit!’ to wipe out a whole bunch of ‘Attaboys’.’ In this case, the good guys win. Yay!
