That last photo is a beauty! There is something about gumboots that calls for nudity I think, because goodness knows that is Amy’s favourite way to wear them.

The rose is gorgeous and the muffins look yummo!

Gluten Free.. Wow! I really need to go in that direction for our family. I’m just scared that it’s too hard. I’ve tried before and failed miserably.

I love your pics -they are always so full of life, love, laughter, and intrigue- and as I’m thinking about it, I must blog roll you!

Raid the gluten-free Basco range of pre-mixed breads, cakes, muffins, etc - they’re easy and taste good. And the bread is almost as good as the gluten stuff and doesn’t cost a gazillion $.
The “Savings” brand of cornflakes in Coles is gluten-free but not the “Home brand” one, it has to say “Savings”.
Contact your state Coeliac Society, they have a small book you can take shopping with you that deciphers the food codes and basically tells you what is and isn’t gluten-free.
Check out Asian grocery stores/supermarkets - they have a huge range of gluten-free flours and stacks of different gluten-free pasta/noodles that are all waaaay cheaper than the supermarkets/health food stores.
Love the pics ! :)

I hope the gluten-free diet works wonders for your girl…and am really sorry for all the crap you have been going through. I hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel!

I love the black and white of your son laughing — he always looks like he’s going a 100 miles an hour, and so cheerful. And the two of them playing piano are wonderful photos. My daughter’s boots were yellow, and she loved to go outside with nothing but the boots on…

Really terrific photos, as usual!

re Jayne’s comment. Coles “Savings” brand has been replace by “You’ll Love Coles”. The product should still be gluten-free, but check the ingredients list anyway unless it clearly states gluten free elsewhere on the box. “HomeBrand” is Woolworths. Hope they all soon adjust to the new tastes and textures .

Wow Tiff - I didn’t know you were having to conquer the gluten-free world too : ( Bummer! I don’t know if you have them in Australia, but the Pamela’s brand pancake mix is AMAZING - they do have it on Amazon.com It does have some buttermilk in the mix and wouldn’t work if you are having to go casein-free too.

The Gluten-Free Pantry mixes (except for the pie crust mix) are really good too. Some of them do have milk products in them so if you are avoiding dairy/casein, be careful. The Gluten-Free Pantry brand Favorite Sandwich Bread mix is really good. It does have milk in it though. (Mine can have milk if it isn’t the main ingredient… a little in some bread is fine - a glass of it - no.)

Sorry I didn’t have a buckwheat pancake recipe for you - I put out an email request for one from some of my gluten-free buddies and hopefully I’ll have something soon for you. If you have any questions I can help you with, just say the word and I’ll do my best.

And I’m lovin’ that last photo! : D

I’m finally getting caught up on Sunday, and I love your pictures! Every week they are awesome. I can’t even pick a favorite, but all of the ones with the kids are adorable!

Oh, and in response to your question on my Winners, White Castles are these little burgers only available in certain areas of the US, and they are notoriously addicting to those who grew up on them yet not so much if you didn’t. Lots of freaks like me consider them the highlight of any trip home ;)
