In his defence…
I spoke to the paed about Ivy. Every. Single. Blood test NORMAL. Which leaves us with nothing. No diagnosis to hold on to, nothing to explain why she is so sick. Zip, nada, zilch.
I asked him why he had walked straight past us. Bagged him out, in fact.
He was on his way to the hospital to tell some parents that there was no hope for their baby and that they needed to switch off life support.
Don’t I feel like a heel.
I know what that is like. Have been on both sides of the fence. It’s hard.
So I can’t be cross.
In the same conversation I told him how we were unable to see him until late January, that his receptionist felt there was no hope of getting an urgent appointment until the next milenium. I told him Ivy had lost a kilo.
We’re seeing him on the 7th.
This morning, after a really rough night, Ivy’s ear started discharging… again. *SIGH*
